Pastor Pete’s Bio

Hey guys, Pastor Pete here just wanting to give you a snapshot of who I am and where I came from. (Obviously from my mother, but I am talking about between birth and now). I grew up in Severna Park Maryland, in AA county. Lived in the same house my entire life, and went to the same school “Annapolis Area Christian School” from 1st-12th grade. I have 1 brother Paul who is 35 and a sister Kathy who is 39. (yes, I am the baby of the family). I praise the Lord for an awesome relationship I have with my parents. What a joy it is to have that relationship even now as I raise my own boys. Through high school I went to Mt. Oak Methodist church (Tim’s previous church) and attended the youth group there, then later became a youth leader through college. I am one of the statistics that went to college and got a major and am doing nothing with it right now. I did Music Education at Towson University. It was my 2nd senior year (yes I went 5 years) that I felt a call on my life to ministry, that’s when Utown came into the picture. Through one God ordained phone call to Tim, I told him I was praying about being his youth pastor. Little did I know what God had in store. That began the journey here at Utown. I lived with Tim for a summer as the youth intern, then went to part time, then joyfully went to full time ministry in 2001. 01’ was a big year, Started in full time ministry, graduated college, and married my best friend, Kimberly Brooke Harrington. We had previously dated for 4 years (through college). Kim is a photographer and she just opened up her studio the summer of 2008 here in Westminster. It’s very exciting (check out her site at www.kimberlybrooke.com ) . Life changed for us in 2005 when we met our little boy Caden Isaiah Green on May 26th. We entered into the parenting phase. At first it was easy, sleepless nights, bottle and burping and that was all there was to it. Then he began to walk and talk and everything changed. Then we met our second son Ryder Harrington Green on March 21st of 2007. Both of my boys have their names for a reason. Caden means Spirited warrior and Ryder means Mounted warrior. My heart was to raise 2 warriors for the kingdom of heaven.

So now our little family lives in New Windsor, MD, in our 100 year old house. We love camping together as a family, and just spending time with our kids and family. A few hobbies you could say that I enjoy are, riding my motorcycle, racing with my brother in Manassas VA, camping, fishing, being on my dad’s boat, and yes, NASCAR. You must think I am a redneck, well there might be some truth to that.

My wife and I just celebrated 7 years of marriage. We are excited to see what God is doing here in Carroll County, and we feel blessed to be apart of it. It’s a joy to serve at Utown in the Youth and Young adult ministry. And I love when Tim graciously shares the pulpit with me. Preaching has become a passion of mine.

I know I said it would be snapshot, and that seems like more than a snapshot, but it just gives you a little hint of who Pastor Pete is and the Green Family. Excited to continue to journey here at Utown, and excited to do it with you.

Living Room is taking a break till Kick off on Sept. 10th!!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys,

Just wanted to let you guys know we have decided to take August off. This is something we haven’t done in quite a few years. I felt it would be a good thing to give my leaders a time of rest before we kick off a very busy fall. We will have our kick off for the new year on Sept. 10th and that night is going to be a parents night/ pot luck. It will be a very exciting night as we introduce to you what we are doing this fall with the “Gospel Journey”. You will have to come out and find out more about it.

So we need your help getting the word out, there is no living room until Kick off on Sept. 10th. I know with camps, remaining vacations, and sports starting soon, that August was a good month to do that. So please pray for our leaders as they take time with their families and enjoy a shot time of rest. They are everything to this ministry. What a joy it is to serve along side of them.

If you have any questions please feel free to give me a call. 443.398.5295.

See you Sunday!!!!!!!!!!

Pastor Pete.
